Instant replay in MLB
Written by: DavidIt’s about time. The technology has been there forever, and it is about time they used it to get some of these obivous calls right. I realize they will still screw stuff up just like they do in football, but I am glad they are limiting it to home run calls. I just hope it doesn’t become like football where they take ten minutes to look at the video. Look at it a couple of times, and if it isn’t an obvious change, then leave the call as it stood and move on. Part of the reality of sports is that calls get missed. It just gives all the talk radio guys something to talk about for the rest of the week.

High School Musical Get in the Picture Episode 9 Music
Written by: JohnAs I’ve done in the past, I’ve tried to list all the High School Musical: Get in the picture music for those interested in the show. Here’s the whole list of HSM: Get in the Picture music.
TV theme songs was the theme for this show’s performance and the following are the theme songs they used:
Mary Tyler Moore theme song
![]()
Greatest American Hero theme song
![]()
Cheers theme song
![]()
One Day at a Time theme song
![]()
A quick thought about the show. I’m really sad to see TJ get sent to the chorus. I can see why they did it, but I also think he wasn’t really given a chance to shine. I’m sure that James Wolpert is going to be going to the chorus soon too, because he just is too awkward to win this competition.
I also love the absolutely typical high school girls Bailey Purvis and Shayna Goldstein. It makes me glad I’m not in high school anymore, but they take me back to the high school drama that I had long forgotten.
Finally, Christina Brown‘s voice is just absolutely wonderful to hear and Tierney Chamberlain really does need to open up. Well, she doesn’t have to if she doesn’t want to, but she needs to if she wants to win. That’s up to her.
JJ Abrams Promises You Won’t Get Lost in Fringe Pilot
Written by: JohnIf you’ve ever watched any of JJ Abrams previous shows you might wonder if you’re going to be completely lost watching the Pilot episode of Fringe. JJ Abrams has committed to not confusing you:
If you’ve ever been utterly baffled by a television show that J.J. Abrams had a hand in creating — too confused to follow the serpentine plot twists of Lost or Alias or, heck, even Felicity — know that Abrams, the prolific writer, producer and director, has been annoyed, too. With you.
“I just got tired of hearing people say to me, over and over, ‘Yeah, I was watching it, but I missed one, I got really confused, and I stopped watching it,’” he said in a recent phone interview.
Considering what I’ve ready about Fringe so far I’m pretty sure you’re not going to want to miss an episode or you’ll be missing something valuable. This is just more reason for Fox to stream all the Fringe episodes online similar to how ABC streams its shows.
It was also interesting to learn how JJ Abrams came up with Fringe:
His newest show was born from pragmatism. In 2007 he was preparing to direct Star Trek for Paramount, but he also owed a television series to Warner Brothers, the studio that produces Fringe, and he turned to Kurtzman and Orci for help. They traded ideas about beloved fantasy films and television series –The X-Files, Altered States, the early movies of David Cronenberg — but also looked carefully at procedural crime dramas dominating the networks. “When six of the Top 10 shows are Law & Order and C.S.I.,” Orci said, “you have to be a fool not to go study what it is that they’re doing.”
The Amazing Race 13 Spoilers and Quotes
Written by: JohnI think this is the best TAR 13 article I’ve read so far. It gives you some interesting insights on things to watch for and also some quotes from the TAR 13 cast.
“I love the fraternity brothers because they’re so young and such a contrasting team,” host Phil Keoghan recently told The Associated Press. “One takes his time to think things out. The other one loves to rush and go at a million miles an hour. There’s definitely tension between the two of them while they’re making decisions during the race.”
Another team competing is geeky best friends Mark Yturralde, 41, and Bill Hahler, 42. The Comic-Con treasurer and student aid administrator from San Diego have been pals for over 20 years and have auditioned for “The Amazing Race” since the long-running reality series’ third season. The superhero and gaming aficionados said they left their toys at home during the race.
“We’ve got really teeny backpacks,” said Hahler. “They are small. We wanted to make sure that there wasn’t anything to prevent us from putting that pack underneath the seat in front of us when we got on a plane. We didn’t want something to happen where we got delayed because of our luggage. We thought that would help us go faster.”
“We did extensive research on what to wear – what was lightweight and would help us move the fastest,” added Yturralde. “I think it was the longest I ever went without wearing a logo on my T-shirt. If you see me on the street, I’m usually wearing a Superman, Bizarro or Batman T-shirt on a constant basis, but we had to utilize more multi-use clothing for ‘The Amazing Race.’”
Married beekeepers Anita, 63, and Arthur Jones, 61, from Eugene, Ore., are the oldest – and perhaps most colorful – team on this season of “The Amazing Race.” Among the self-described hippies’ mottos: “Don’t worry, be hippie” and “The hokey pokey is what it’s all about.” Before the race, the Joneses worked out in hopes of keeping up with the other teams.
“We both tried to do some training, along the lines of going down to our little gym, but that was pretty much it,” said Anita. “We have an emerging farm, so we do a lot of work out there, splitting wood and taking care of the horses. We’re pretty physical, so we thought, ‘Hey, we can be in there with everybody else. It’ll be fun.’”
Ken Greene, a former St. Louis Cardinals and San Diego Chargers defensive back, now 51, will race with estranged wife Tina.
Starting at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, the 13th season of the Emmy-winning reality competition (premiering Sept. 28 at 8 p.m. EDT) will follow the teams as they travel over 30,000 miles in 23 days to countries such as Brazil, Bolivia, Russia, India and Kazakhstan. It’s the first time the series visited the landlocked country lampooned by Sacha Baron Cohen in “Borat.”
“We shot most of that episode in the capital,” said executive producer Bertram van Munster. “People were a little afraid we were going to pull a ‘Borat’ on them. I told them we weren’t doing ‘Borat,’ but what happened there is very, very funny. It’s not easy to shoot in places like that because they practically have no television industry.”
Van Munster, who is currently scouting locations in Asia for the 14th season, promised the 13th season will include a series of firsts for the reality competition, including a mistake that ultimately prohibited one team from joining their fellow racers at the finish line, as well as a memorable first-ever stop for “The Amazing Race” in Cambodia.
“The teams have no idea how to get from Point A to Point B there,” said van Munster. “They don’t know the language. It’s very difficult to get through this country. They get so stuck, but they find so many fascinating solutions of how to get through everything. One of the things the teams do there is go to a real-life floating village. It’s insane.”
America’s Got Talent Freak Show Take 2 – George the Giant
Written by: JohnI previously posted what I still consider to be one of the biggest America’s Got Talent freaks yet: Ronnie B. However, the second day of America’s Got Talent’s semifinals had it’s very own freak show. His name is George the Giant and there’s something really wrong with this guy.
Take a look at this video of George the Giant’s Freak Show
I only give George credit for admitting he’s a freak show. Ronnie B still thinks he’s cool.

Written by: Pete
Lance Reddick as Phillip Broyles

Fun Facts
Was in 60 episodes of HBO’s “The Wire” from 2002-2008 playing Lt. Cedric Daniels
“The Wire” has had 7 award wins & 26 nominations
In my opinion he can play creepy as in “LOST” he can play tough as in “The Wire” and he can play MEAN as on Fringe. Take my advice… Don’t make this guy mad!

Gossip Girl Script Leaked
Written by: JohnI must admit that I don’t usually write about Gossip Girl (although I’d love to find someone else to write about it), but I’m always interested when a popular show like Gossip Girl has a script leaked after reading about the way JJ Abrams is keeping the Fringe script secret. Thanks to Gawker Media for posting scans of the leaked script. Here’s the basic gist of what was found in the script:
And what do the selected pages reveal? Mostly the tortured (and torturous) relationship between sad young literary man Brooklyn Dan and his crusty old mentor, Noah Shapiro. Amusingly, the Shapiro character is introduced by Jay McInerney, in a cameo role, who was once a sad young New York literary fellow himself. His 1984 novel Bright Lights, Big City was a smash hit about “you” (the novel was written entirely in the second person) young ambitious writerly types in the big bad city. It’s all come full circle!
Looks like this excerpt comes from the fifth episode of the second season of Gossip Girl.
Comments from people that have seen the Fringe Pilot
Written by: Pete
Look’s like lot’s of love and hate going on out there. **These comments may contain spoilers**
(I have cut some of these comment’s short but tried to keep everything in context.)
One person called it,.. “Poor man’s X-files”
other’s,.. “Love it”, “I really liked it.”, “X Files for a new generation” all which I expected.. and then.
“One of the most boring, tedious television series in existence”
Possibly the most hyped new show of the 2008-2009 season. I’ve been a fan of Abrams’ work for a long time. LOST is one of my favourite shows and ALIAS was excellent too. I even enjoyed Six Degrees. But this series is something else entirely…just not in the same league at all. Its incredibly slow, incredibly dull, and extremely monotonous, and by 20 minutes into the pilot I was feeling bored and annoyed at being subjected to such a slow, boring show.
- I think that’s called the character building portion of the show.. and let’s not forget the horrific start of the show. I’m pretty sure that keep the show interesting past the first 20 min.

Hilarious Clip of Don Cheadle and Guillermo on Jimmy Kimmel Live
Written by: JohnDon Cheadle was on last night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. Cheadle and Guillermo spoofed his international suspense thriller with a short parody of behind-the-scenes footage for Traitor. In true Jimmy Kimmel fashion, this video gets better and better as the parody goes on.
Guillermo is my hero. I hope that he gets paid well.
