America’s Best Dance Crew Causes Memory Loss

August 20, 2008 in ABDC, America's Best Dance Crew, Reality TV, TV, TV News by Rocky

I’ve been waiting all day for America’s Best Dance Crew’s season finale. I even went so far as to tell everyone online that I had to get off at 10 pm to watch the show. Finally it was time, I turned on the TV and heard them introduce a new episode of Run’s House. WHAT!?! At first I panicked, changed the channel then changed it back. Still no ABDC. What’s going on? Taking a breath, I checked the calendar and realized its still Wednesday. I have to wait another day for the finale. Now that’s excitement! I’ll probably need therapy next week when I can’t find the show.

Olympics

August 20, 2008 in Olympics, Sports by John

Hey everyone my name is Travis and i will be the writer here on pure tv sports. Sports is probably the most watched thing on televison overall so its fitting that we have plenty to talk about.
Soo lets start with the obvious and easy things..the Olympics.. and well for the most part all you can say about Michael Phelps is DAMNNNN the man is possesed and we dont need to get into that because we all know it.. but damn.. also the Redeem Team is looking great winning games by an average of over 30 points, there was a ton of uncertainty about USA basketball after the past 8 years with no international championships but once again the americans look poised to dominate the games and bring home a huge gold that basketball fans in america needed. Next i took a look over at track and field and the one and only Usain Boldt. For everyone who got a chance to see this guy do his thing in the 200 and 100 you cant help but be taken back at watching a human being move that fast without wheels. As far as the americans are concerned in track and field … they have been overall doing fairly well with medal sweep in the mens 400 and also with medals in the womens and mens hurdels. As Far as non Phelps aquatics are concerned the Chinese have dominated the diving which seems natural the American womens waterpolo team has looked very good and the mens waterpolo team has also looked strong showing a 4-1 record. Next we go to volleyball where the American sand volleyball team of Rogers and Daulhausser are in the Gold Medal Game against Brazil while the womens sand team looks just as good and is also getting ready to play in the gold medal game, while the men and womens indoor teams have both advanced out of pool play and each have won their first quarterfinal matches. Overall so far America is leading the medal count by four but are trailing the gold medal count by 19 to China who has 45 golds… this gap should narrow here in the next couple weeks with the strongest american sports closing out. well i will close this out with a clip of the week , this has been my favorite moment of the olympics so far with two great NBA superstars hooking up to make an awesome play.

TORONTO, Aug. 18 /CNW/ – This fall’s most-anticipated new series is
getting a super-simulcast series premiere in Canada. CTV announced today it
will simulcast the series premiere of Fringe together with ‘A’, creating a
one-time-only super-simulcast for the big buzz sci-fi series. From Emmy
Award-winning producer J.J. Abrams (Lost), and starring B.C. native Joshua
Jackson (Bobby, Dawson’s Creek), Fringe makes its television debut on Tuesday,
September 9 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CTV, ‘A’ and in Alberta on ACCESS (simulcast
with FOX; visit CTV.ca/Atv.ca to confirm local broadcast times). This one-time
promotional stunt is designed to deliver the biggest exposure possible for the
series premiere. Following its debut, Fringe settles into its regular ‘A’
time-slot on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT beginning September 16.

“This scheduling move is about creating the biggest opportunity for
viewers to see the show that everyone’s been talking about,” said Susanne
Boyce, President, Creative, Content and Channels, CTV Inc. “Fringe will keep
viewers on the edge of their seats as it explores the line between science
fiction and reality.”

From J.J. Abrams, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, the team behind Star
Trek, Mission: Impossible III and Alias, comes the most-anticipated series of
the fall. Variety magazine says Fringe “mixes elements of The X-Files and
Altered States” in its exploration of the blurring line between what is
possible and impossible.

When an international flight lands at Boston’s Logan Airport with
everyone on board dead, FBI Special Agent Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv,
Mistresses) is called in to investigate as part of an inter-agency task force.
When Olivia’s investigation leads to multi-billion dollar corporation Massive
Dynamic and its manipulative corporate executive, Nina Sharp (Blair Brown, The
American Experience), Olivia, along with Department of Homeland Security Agent
Phillip Broyles (Lance Reddick, Lost) and FBI Agents Charlie Francis (Kirk
Acevedo, The Black Donnelly’s) and Astrid Farnsworth (Jasika Nicole, Take the
Lead), discover that what happened on Flight 627 is only a small piece of a
larger, more shocking truth.

In the super-simulcast series premiere (Tuesday, September 9 at 8 p.m. ET
on CTV and ‘A’), after Special Agent Olivia Dunham’s partner, John Scott (Mark
Valley, Boston Legal), is nearly killed during the investigation of a plane
with everyone on board dead, a desperate Olivia searches frantically for
someone to help. This leads her to Dr. Walter Bishop (John Noble, Pirate
Islands: The Lost Treasures of Fiji), our generation’s Einstein. There’s only
one catch: he’s been institutionalized for the last 17 years, and the only way
to question him requires pulling his estranged son Peter (Joshua Jackson,
Bobby, Dawson’s Creek) in to help. Under Special Agent Phillip Broyles, the
trio work to discover the shocking truth behind “fringe science.”

Fringe settles into its regular time slot, Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT
beginning September 16, exclusively on ‘A Channel’.
