MTV’s Top Pop Group-Episode 2

Written by: Rocky

Last week I held off on voicing an opinion of MTV’s Top Pop Group because I realized there were production problems that needed to be worked on. Unfortunantly, it looks like the problems are here to stay. The editing looks like it’s being done by an intern. The judges comments are so jumbled that half the time you have to guess what they are trying to say. To make things worse, the sound production is terrible. This show feels like watching a local talent show, not a professional audition looking for the next pop sensation.

Some good things about the show:

Mosaic is an amazing a cappella group from Las Vegas. They have real talent and creativity but I’m not sure they can win over a radio fed audience.

Ju-Taun definitely has the talent to win this but their style may be too old school for this shows demographic audience.

NJ5IVE has the marketable package that MTV loves and should appeal to the young female voters watching the show.

Those are the groups I’m impressed with so far, check out all the performances from episode 2 and let me know who impressed you.
