David Letterman Reacts to John McCain Suspending Campaign
Written by: JohnDavid Letterman had one of the best reactions to John McCain canceling his appearance on his show. The best part of it is at about 7:00 minutes.
I think some of the funniest David Letterman has been the times when people haven’t been on his show (see Oprah)

Fashions From MTV’s The Hills
Written by: RockyI’m sure you’ve heard about the MTV show The Hills. It’s a reality based drama that has it’s flaws. The people tend to be shallow and the drama is not always entertaining. What I like about the show is that it centers around the fashion industry. The fashion trends and styles that are featured on the show are really hot. Curious about a handbag I saw, I came across an entire site dedicated to The Hills clothing and fashion. The part I love the best is you can choose to simply browse the site or look up the episode, name of a specific person from the show or item your interested in. They have everything, they even have some of the cars the girls drive listed!
If you check it out let me know what you think.
I Love Money-Episode 11 Recap
Written by: RockyLast week was a crazy week on I Love Money and we were left with a cliffhanger that promised some juicy drama ahead. Unfortunantly, this week didn’t live up to the hype. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed the show, it just moved slower than I expected.
What I learned from this week’s show:
A person’s word is only as good as the order in which it is given.
Men are just as irrational as women when they are in love.
Even family will manipulate you when $250,000 is on the line.
There is a fine line between friend and enemy when love is involved.
Denial is awkward to watch.
Whiteboy is very protective of his “package”.
Men will kiss anything that looks remotely like a woman. Should we feel sorry for that Mexican guy?
People are easy to manipulate.
Hoopz eliminated both Toastee and Pumkin.
Megan really is a cat with nine lives!
This week the Vh1 Blog had an awesome recap of the show including some great pictures. Check it out!
Next week we will see clips of scenes we have not seen before and then the following week we will have the finale.

Biggest Loser-Season 6, Episode 2
Written by: KristineMy allergies really made my eyes water during this episode. It couldn’t be I was crying over how cute and tender the conversations home were. I mean who would cry over Charlie Brown?
My one major gripe about this show is shameless advertising. They throw in adversing through out the whole show but do it in the most tacky way.
I was excited to see Rocco on the show and to have a little segment on healthy yet affordable meals. I found some of Rocco’s recipes online, however they weren’t the ones featured in this weeks show. I am hoping that NBC will put those recipes up on their website soon. I want to try the winning meatball and chick pea soup.
The average weight loss for week two is only 2%. I think I heard this a thousand times during this episode. I just wanted to scream “okay we got it” Stop repeating it over and over”. The show could be a normal one hour show if they stopped with their shameless advertising, their endless repeating and the stretched out weigh-ins.
I always have thought that the first weeks weight loss is overly exaggerated. Of course they are going to lose a lot of weight. When you teach them how to eliminate all the extra water from their bodies combined with healthy eating for the first time in their lives they are bound to lose a lot. A friend of mine who isn’t overweight gave up soda for a week and lost 5 lbs. These contestants on this show have given up more than a daily soda soda so it didn’t surprise me to see big numbers.
Now week two is more realistic. The numbers are a lot smaller but heck they are normal. All of them did so good. One week is not a lot of time to even lose one pound. My poor yellow team did so well but because they took the bait of money they missed there goal and were placed in the bottom. The problem is they showed they were a threat. They showed the other teams how much they want to win.
This is good but at the beginning it is dangerous. You want to fly under the radar the first couple of weeks so others won’t vote you off. They got lucky that the grey team fell below the line. They are huge guys and could be a huge threat since they have more weight to lose and we all know guys lose weight faster than girls too.
I was sad to see the grey team go but was happy to see yellow still in the game. Coleen worked hard and she and her dad deserve to be there. I felt sad for L.T. because he gained weight this week but as watched the after the show re-cap he looked great (as did his dad) and there are no worries that he will continue to do well at home. Both Tom and L.T. are going to good contenders for the at home winner.

The closing of Yankee Stadium
Written by: DavidIn writing this post I must admit that I am a devout Yankee-hater and always will be. That being said I have the utmost respect for the history and tradition of the team and the stadium. I had the pleasure of attending a game there last year, and I can’t describe how it felt to sit in those seats and be where greatness had been. There was nothing special about the structure itself, in fact it was the most uncomfortable ballpark I have ever been to, but there was no denying the near holiness of those grounds. Yankee Stadium transcended sports. It was an icon to almost everyone for one reason or another, and with the continuing demise of most of the historic stadiums, Fenway and Wrigley are just about the only ones left, I am truly sad to see it go.
I watched the entire game last night, and while it wasn’t one for the ages, and in the long run meant nothing since neither team is going to the playoffs, it was still something I will never forget. The pregame ceremonies were very special with all of the former players present, and the interviews during the game were a rare pleasure. Normally I hate it when sportscasters talk through the whole game, but hearing the likes of Whitey Ford and Yogi Berra tell stories about their playing days made it one of the more enjoyable games I have ever watched. It was an opportunity that I am glad I didn’t miss.
One of the most surprising events for me was the newfound respect I gained for Derek Jeter after the speech he gave following the game:
If Derek Jeter played for any other team I probably wouldn’t hate him nearly as much, but having watched this speech and the ensuing walk around the field, I felt as if he was truly sad, and maybe even heartbroken, over the closing of the stadium. It is refreshing in this day and age of egos to see someone that may very well genuinely care about the fans and the game.
In contrast, his idiot teammates (read: A-Rod and company) were walking around pushing each other and cracking jokes like they were high school players on a victory lap. It showed their immaturity and their blatant disregard for the fans, and even winning. Maybe if the Yankees bought players that cared about winning more than about their paycheck they might actually win.
So once again goodbye to Yankee Stadium. The House that Ruth Built is being torn down, but the memories of those that tread there will be treasured in our minds and our hearts forever.
