Skating with the Stars on ABC – Johnny Weir Maybe?
Written by: JohnLike “Dancing,” “Skating with the Stars” will find stars competing live and in front of a panel of judges who will rate their performances.
Just in time for winter, the six-episode show will premiere on Monday, November 22 on ABC. The cast of the new reality show will be unveiled on November 2.
“Skating with the Stars” isn’t the first ice skating celeb competition to hit the U.S.
A similar program, “Skating with Celebrities” appeared on FOX in 2006. Among the stars who competed on that program included “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” patriarch Bruce Jenner, former “Full House” funnyman Dave Coulier and actress Kristy Swanson, who famously became involved with her then-married dancing partner, Lloyd Eisler. – Source
Skating definitely seems a bit more dangerous than dancing. Although, considering the number of injuries on Dancing with the Stars, maybe I’m wrong.
Looks like it’s going to be on during the Holiday Break when there’s not much on TV. So, I’ll probably watch it. What can I say? I love reality TV. It’s really entertaining.
The real question is who will be the professional skaters on the show. I’m guessing Johnny Weir. Maybe Kristi Yamaguchi since she has the DWTS tie in.
Anyone know where we can see footage of the previous skating star competition on Fox?
Live to Dance with Paula Abdul
Written by: JohnCBS announced today the host and panel of experts for the new reality-competition series, LIVE TO DANCE with Paula Abdul. Executive producer, lead expert and mentor Paula Abdul will be joined by host Andrew Günsberg and fellow experts, choreographer Travis Payne and singer/dancer Kimberly Wyatt.
Obviously, since I’m a huge fan of So You Think You Can Dance, I’m interested to see how well the show Live to Dance with Paula Abdul will do on Fox.
I love most dance shows so I’m quite sure that I’ll enjoy this show. Unless it turns out like that terrible international dance show that Nigel put together (Superstars of Dance?).
The funny thing is that this really feels similar to how X Factor has gone at American Idol. The similarities between how Live to Dance is going at SYTYCD is remarkable. For example, they open up the format so that solo or group performances are allowed. This is going to be interesting to watch. Only problem is that they have Paula and not Simon. Simon is the ratings draw. I don’t think Paula is.
Either way, I love that there’s more dance on TV. Let’s just hope it doesn’t saturate America with too much dance so all the shows get cancelled.

American Idol Season 10 Press Conference – New Judges and Nigel’s Back
Written by: JohnCheck out the American Idol press conference for season 10. Check out the judges and Nigel Lythgoe is back. My initial reaction is that Steven is a joke. I can’t believe that they brought him on as a judge. His brain is so fried it’s going to be horrible. Jennifer Lopez should be great though.
