Quest Crew Wins ABDC on MTV
Written by: JohnCongratulations to Quest Crew. They were my favorite since the beginning. Yes, I am biased since Quest Crew contained 3 members who had participated on So You Think You Can Dance. I loved them on SYTYCD and they were even better in their element (most of the time) on ABDC. This was a well deserved victory even if Beat Freaks was really great as well.
I saw this interesting post on the MTV forum that said:
Are they as good or better than Jabbawockeez? Maybe…but I don’t believe they have the same mystique and appeal as the Jabbawockeez. As good as the Jabbawockeez were in season 1 you have to admit that the masks were a major part of their appeal. It gives their performances an extra wow factor. They’ve already gotten Gatorade commercials, all kinds of public dance gigs, and even performed at the All Star Game in Phoenix with Shaq. I just don’t know that Quest will get the same kinds of endorsements. Super Crew certainly didn’t . I think if you took the masks off of Jabbawockeez, Quest may just be better.
I have to agree with them, but one thing that wasn’t mentioned is that the dancers on Quest crew will still have plenty of chances to dance and to teach dancing all over the country. They’ll be able to make a decent living dancing. However, the masks on JabbaWockeez was a unique marketing element.
Now we look to the future. I heard that Randy Jackson did say that there will be a fourth season of America’s Best Dance Crew. I’m just a little surprised that something wasn’t said about the fourth season on the show if that’s really the case. Maybe there’s probably going to be a fourth season, but they still haven’t worked out all the details.
Then, maybe the most important question is why they haven’t announced an ABDC 2009 tour yet. If someone finds out any information about an ABDC 2009 tour, then please let me know so I can post it for everyone to see.
