The Choice – New Celebrity Dating Game Show Hosted by Cat Deeley

Written by:

I just saw the press release announcing the new Celebrity Dating Show called The Choice and hosted by the beautiful Cat Deeley. You can see how they’ve stolen a bit of The Voice and merged it with half a dozen other dating shows on TV. Should be fun to watch if they can get some good celebrities. Plus, I think the shock value will be good if they don’t tell the contestants that they’ll be matching with celebrities. Plus, I’m always in for watching for of Cat Deeley on TV.

Here’s the full release for The Choice on Fox debuting Thursday, June 7 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT)!

FOX takes the dating game show for a spin by giving celebrities THE CHOICE to prove that love is really blind. Hosted by Cat Deeley and debuting Thursday, June 7 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), THE CHOICE features the world’s most eligible celebrities (to be announced) competing to find true love among a group of sexy singles…they can’t see.

“We wanted to put a new spin on the dating game show that gives celebrities THE CHOICE of a lifetime and the chance to prove you really shouldn’t judge a book by its cover,” said Mike Darnell, President of Alternative Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company.

Filmed in front of a live audience, each episode begins with four of the world’s most eligible bachelors sitting in rotating chairs, turning their backs on love and unable to see the sexy singles looking for a date with fame. In this initial “Blind Round,” each celebrity can only use his suitors’ voices – as they share information about their life, passions, turn-ons and turn-offs – to help himself make THE CHOICE. When the celebrity bachelor likes what he hears, he pulls his “love handle,” spinning his chair around to bring him face-to-face for the first time with his potential mate. If more than one celebrity pulls the handle, they must battle it out for her affection until the sexy single gets THE CHOICE to pick whose dating pool she wants to swim in.

Once each bachelor has his three hotties, the teams enter the “Speed Choice” round, where each woman has only seconds to convince her leading man to sweep her off her feet to the final round.
In the final round, love is on the line when host Deeley poses a challenge question to each of the team’s final two. The celebrities must then make THE CHOICE between each of their two remaining eligible ladies, whisking one away on a dream date and leaving one in no man’s land.

Some of the world’s most famous bachelorettes will also be blinded by love in an episode that features the ladies sitting in the hot seats. These coveted women will make not only their chairs, but their suitors’ heads spin when the men realize this is a date of a lifetime.

THE CHOICE is produced by A. Smith & Co. Productions (HELL’S KITCHEN and KITCHEN NIGHTMARES). Arthur Smith, Kent Weed and Scott St. John (“Deal or No Deal”) serve as executive producers.

Welcome to Dopeland Thoughts

Written by:

The new dark comedy “Welcome To Dopeland” (formerly titled “Everything Must Go”) from director Len Dell’Amico is like a Cheech and Chong road picture crossed with Dr. Strangelove. About two slackers headed for trouble that find more of it than they ever dreamed of, this small indie flick covers some big bright ideas — and the end of the world — ripped right from today’s headlines.

For a limited time*, download “Welcome To Dopeland” for $2 by using the special discount code “Q802C088″ (Valid through 11/15) at checkout — go to http://bit.ly/OWSmovie to download your copy today.

I must admit that I’m not sure whether I hated Welcome to Dopeland or found it incredibly intriguing and thought provoking. I have a feeling that this is going to be one of those movies where the premise and messages it pictures are going to stick with me for a long time to come.

The movie definitely had strange and surprising twists every step of the way. For a while I had no idea where this movie was headed. In fact, they really wait until basically the end of the movie to reveal basically what’s going on.

You can find the trailer for Welcome to Dopeland below.
