The Biggest Loser Eating Phenomenon

Written by: John

I was reading through my twitter stream and doing some searches for Biggest Loser tonight and I found what I’m calling The Biggest Loser Phenomenon.

This phenomenon is that when people always end up eating while watching The Biggest Loser. However, they don’t just eat. They also feel guilty for eating. Here’s a small sample of some recent tweets on the subject:
Biggest Loser Eating Phenomenon

My favorite one in the list of tweets is the last one from @nycnic2305. “is it wrong that I am eating cookies and watching the biggest loser?? should i feel bad? but these cookies are soooo good.”

I also like @nuthouseshannon who said “watching Biggest Loser while eating chocolate cake…something is not right with this picture…” Of course, to this I replied, “@nuthouseshannon Nope and Nope. You should however feel guilty for not sharing those cookies with me.”

Time to go and get my cookies ready. Biggest Loser starts in 45 minutes for me.

Erica Ellyson Penthouse Pet on Momma’s Boys

Written by: John

I just finally was able to catch up on my TV back log and watch the final 2 episodes of Momma’s Boys. I must admit that I think Momma’s Boys was one of the best reality shows I’ve seen in a while. They did a great job with the editing and the casting. They provided amazing situations that really made you think.

Plus, it didn’t hurt that they had at least 3 playboy playmates and a Penthouse Pet of the Year either. I can’t mention that without posting at least a few pictures right:
Erica Ellyson Penthouse Pet of the Year

Grand Opening Of Hawaiian Tropic Zones

Brittany Fuchs Playboy Playmate

Mario Lopez Cools Off At Wet Republic At MGM Grand

Meghan Allen and Michelle Kopasz were the other Playboy Playmates.

Anyway, the pretty girls were nice, but they were put in really interesting situations. Anyone that is considering doing Playboy or Penthouse should watch this show, because it gives an interesting insight into some possible challenges you’ll have with dating after posing for Playboy or Penthouse.

The funny thing is that Erica Ellyson really was my favorite on the show. She was real and natural. More than any other person on the show. Michael made a mistake not picking her. Sure, he had a good choice with Amanda, but Erica had something really special.

The cool part is that I found out on Erica Ellyson’s myspace that she now lives in Las Vegas (you might also check out her blog post after the show). She’s even working with a company called Platinum Tees that has models go golfing with people. The problem I have with that is that Erica would kill me at golf. I wonder if she’d take me golfing in return to promotion on my site. I can always dream right? I’m going to have to watch for her on UNLV’s campus assuming she still decided to go to UNLV for architecture or nursing.

Well, I’m looking forward to Momma’s Boys two. Unfortunately, I don’t think there’s a way they can make it better than the first season of Momma’s Boys. Thanks Erica for making it a really great show with an interesting ending.

Oh yes, and Camilla Poindexter should have been picked by Robb. Ridiculous that he didn’t and even more ridiculous that JoJo even considered taking his mom.

Check out the full streaming video of Momma’s Boys if you missed it.

Models on Biggest Loser Couples

Written by: John

FORMER MODELS:
Tara Costa (Model/Finance manager), 23, New York, New York, and her friend Laura Denoux (Model/Sales director), 24, Miami, Florida.

Man TV shows are great at spin. I thought the idea of bringing a couple of models on the Biggest Loser was a great storyline. Of course, I had to search the internet to find some pictures of these models so we could see how their model look compared to how much weight they lose on the show.

Well, it turns out that Tara and Laura are plus size models. That’s not nearly as interesting a story. I was hoping for some models that were really skinny and then became fat. Then, the show would be them returning to their previous form. Now Tara and Laura are going to be without jobs at the end of the show. The beauty is that Tara and Laura will probably be very happy about that result.

Superstars of Dance Ballerina Maria Kochetkova on Twitter

Written by: John

I’m always interested to see the ways people we love on TV are using technology. I recently came across the ballerina on Superstars of Dance, Maria Kochetkova, on twitter. If you don’t know what Twitter is you should start playing with it. It’s easy to use and kind of awkward at first, but once you start following a few interesting people you’ll fall in love. You can follow the Pure TV Blog network on Twitter as well.

If you’re not into Twitter, you can follow Maria Kochetkova’s blog. It’s kind of fun seeing what a principal dancer for the San Francisco ballet is saying and doing. Plus, lots of good links to videos.

Of course, if you don’t know who Maria Kochetkova is, you can check out this beautiful ballerina video:

I wonder if Maria Kochetkova would do an interview for this blog so we could learn more about her and her time on the show. I’ll send her a tweet and see what she says.

Superstars of Dance Ratings

Written by: John

Looks like Superstars of Dance had some pretty good ratings for it’s premiere of the show. TV Guide said that NBC’s Superstars of Dance premiere had 10.4 mil viewers for the 9 PM hour. The 10 PM hour of NBC’s Superstars of Dance was the top show for that hour at 10.07 million viewers. Those are pretty good numbers for the premiere of the show. The biggest concern I have is that the number of viewers went down in the second hour. The show could have been produced a lot better and hopefully the trend of less traffic won’t continue, because I love dance shows.

All in all, I don’t think that Nigel and Simon will have a problem with 10 million viewers. Pretty decent for the first season of a show I’d say.
