Katherine Heigle (Izzie) Back on Grey’s Anatomy and T.R. Knight (George) Gone

Written by: John

Fans of Grey’s Anatomy (like myself) have been holding our collective breather after Izzie sees George in kind of an angel/death type sequence. They love those cliff hangers. There had been rumors about Katherine Heigle and T.R. Knight not coming back to Grey’s Anatomy next season, but now it seems that Izzie will be back on Grey’s Anatomy season 6, but T.R Knight will be packing his bags.

I think this is a good thing since Izzie has a lot of really interesting storylines and George’s story line had basically flat lined.

The real question is whether Izzie will some how miraculously recover or whether she’ll return as a ghost. I’m thinking after Denny’s ghost visits it must be the first.

The above link also reports that Jessica Capshaw (Dr. Arizona Robbins) has become a show regular.

Taylor Swift and T-Pain Rock Thug Story at CMT Music Awards

Written by: John

The mix of Taylor Swift and T-Pain’s performance of Thug Story at the opening of the CMT Music Awards was just incredible to watch. This was just so funny watching Taylor Swift try to rap. I have to admit that Taylor Swift looks really good dressed up like a little gangster girl. Awesome. Check out the video opening of the CMT awards show to see what I mean:

My favorite part is when Taylor Swift says “my extra small white tee.” Absolutely hilarious.

The Superstars on ABC

Written by: John

Looks like ABC has another star reality TV show going on this summer and set to premiere Tuesday, June 23 8/7c. Turns out this is a revival of Obama’s favorite TV show. In The Superstars, Eight celebrities are paired with eight professional male and female athletes to compete against each other in varying sporting events. Each week a team will be eliminated until one team is ultimately crowned the winner. Check out the list of celebrities and athletes:

Football star Terrell Owens has been paired with model Joanna Krupa; baseball’s Jeff Kent is paired up with actress and model Ali Landry ; basketballer Robert Horry has been paired up with actress/model and former synchronized swimmer, Estella Warren: Alpine ski racer Bode Miller has been paired with “Extreme Home Makeover’s” Paige Hemmis; freestyle skier Kristi Leskinen will compete with “Dancing With the Stars” professional dancer, Maksim Chmerkovskiy ; basketball star Lisa Leslie will compete with actor Dan Cortese; tennis star Jennifer Capriati and former “Baywatch” star David Charvet will compete together; and soccer star Brandi Chastain has been paired with singer, Julio Iglesias, Jr.

Turns out someone in the Bahamas caught a short video of the start of the bike race they did on The Superstars. Check it out:

I don’t quite get what’s going on since one person on the team is riding the bike and the other is running. I think I’m actually going to really enjoy this show.

Breaksk8 from ABDC to be on The Bonnie Hunt Show

Written by: John

One of our good readers just told me that Breaksk8 was going to be on The Bonnie Hunt Show tomorrow. Nice to see the crews from America’s Best Dance Crew getting some face time on a national TV show. Should be pretty entertaining to see how Bonnie Hunt reacts to their performance.

Here’s what The Bonnie Hunt Show website says about their performance:
BreakSk8: This hip hop dance group was the breakout star of “America’s Best Dance Crew,” but what sets them apart is that they dance on roller skates! Wait until you catch this amazing group of talented guys!

Quest Crew Wins ABDC on MTV

Written by: John

Congratulations to Quest Crew. They were my favorite since the beginning. Yes, I am biased since Quest Crew contained 3 members who had participated on So You Think You Can Dance. I loved them on SYTYCD and they were even better in their element (most of the time) on ABDC. This was a well deserved victory even if Beat Freaks was really great as well.

I saw this interesting post on the MTV forum that said:

Are they as good or better than Jabbawockeez? Maybe…but I don’t believe they have the same mystique and appeal as the Jabbawockeez. As good as the Jabbawockeez were in season 1 you have to admit that the masks were a major part of their appeal. It gives their performances an extra wow factor. They’ve already gotten Gatorade commercials, all kinds of public dance gigs, and even performed at the All Star Game in Phoenix with Shaq. I just don’t know that Quest will get the same kinds of endorsements. Super Crew certainly didn’t . I think if you took the masks off of Jabbawockeez, Quest may just be better.

I have to agree with them, but one thing that wasn’t mentioned is that the dancers on Quest crew will still have plenty of chances to dance and to teach dancing all over the country. They’ll be able to make a decent living dancing. However, the masks on JabbaWockeez was a unique marketing element.

Now we look to the future. I heard that Randy Jackson did say that there will be a fourth season of America’s Best Dance Crew. I’m just a little surprised that something wasn’t said about the fourth season on the show if that’s really the case. Maybe there’s probably going to be a fourth season, but they still haven’t worked out all the details.

Then, maybe the most important question is why they haven’t announced an ABDC 2009 tour yet. If someone finds out any information about an ABDC 2009 tour, then please let me know so I can post it for everyone to see.
