NBCs the Voice Season 3: Reimaging Britney Spears’ Toxic

Monday night we were treated with a re-imagining of Britney Spears’ Toxic by Melanie Martinez. It was so good it got three of the four judges to turn their chairs: Adam, CeeLo and Blake.

However this isn’t the first time that we have seen a re-imaging of Toxic in recent memory… In fact Jake Wesley Rogers of NBCs America’s Got Talent also did a different rendition of Toxic via piano:

Unfortunately for Jake it didn’t get him through the quarterfinals.

Which do you prefer?

My life can be summed up in the following two quotes: 1) "I am married to engineering and am its faithful wife by day, but at night my wanderlust takes hold and the arts becomes my jealous paramour." and... 2) "Engineering is my safety net. Writing is my passion. Acting is my escape when the other two become too much." So where does blogging fit in? NBCs the Voice Season 3: Advisers to the Judges Chosen

Several advisers for the judges have been announced for NBCs the Voice:
Mary J Blige has been tapped to aid Adam Levine
Michael Buble will be aiding Blake Shelton
Matchbox 20’s Rob Thomas will be CeeLo Green’s adviser
Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day will join Christina Aguilera’s team

What do you think of the line-up thus far?

In other Reality TV news:

As the talent contest field grows more crowded, shows are competing for big-name music stars. “American Idol” is adding Mariah Carey as a judge, and “The X Factor” signed Britney Spears and Demi Lovato.

NBC’s The Voice coming back in the fall

Hello! Marianya here. I’m a blogger over at other blogs in the PureTVNetwork series… primarily PureDWTS.com, PureSYTYCD.com and PureAmericasGotTalent.com, since I have other interests in shows like The Voice, I’ll be posting information here when I get it. 🙂 Below is the original post I made on my personal weblog.

Why am I not surprised? The Voice, NBC’s summer smash hit in 2011, and made new waves in spring of 2012 is going to come back in the fall 2012 lineup.

Not only that they are planning to cycle in additional judges to the panel. Not necessarily because of the chemistry of the current panel, but on the contrary TPTB (The Powers That Be) feel that since the judges are all working musicians, to ask them to schedule time for the show would be asking too much as it is.

To say that I’m excited is an understatement. What I am most worried about is whom they would bring on as coaches, after all the chemistry between the judges panel now (CeeLo Green, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Christina Aguilera) was a total unknown when the show premiere last summer and it soon became such a massive hit. I mean take a look at the Superbowl promo they filmed:

Anyway, I’m getting off the point. I think the only way that the Voice can sell in the Fall is if they make just as huge of a knockout with the judging panel as they currently have. But who to bring?

Shane Spark’s Review of ABDC 3

2008 Pre-Emmys DPA Gifting Lounge - Day 2

I found the following interview that I thought providing an interesting perspective on ABDC from Shane Sparks.

Usually you can tell which groups are going to be in trouble after the first challenge week but I thought they did a good job overall. Do you think any crew in particular will be in trouble down the line?
I think America’s finally getting it right right now. Last week we had a bottom two and it was exactly who should’ve been in the bottom two. Usually we’re really skeptical, like “Oh my god, why are they in the bottom two?” So the two [that were in the bottom], they’re good – Team Millennia, I like them, but there’s so much competition on this show right now they’ve almost gotta do three times as much as they did last season to maintain. We’ll see what happens this season or this episode. And I think this episode is gonna be the deciding factor of who’s really, really hot and who’s not because now they all have to come up out of their element and show a different side. The one or two or three that impresses us the most are gonna be the ones I feel like will last on the show the longest.

Whose idea was tonight’s Britney Spears challenge?
I don’t know actually who did this one but I think it’s a really good one. The only thing I’m sad about is the fact that Britney’s not gonna be on the stage with us. [leans toward the recorder for comedic emphasis] Britney, I hate you for that.

*laughs* Since she couldn’t appear, are you going to be doing another spotlight artist challenge this season?
I’m hoping we get somebody this year. I don’t know who it could be but it would’ve been perfect for her to come here — it would’ve set the tone for our whole season. But we’ll see.

When I talked to you at the finale, the hope was for the really good all-girl crew to come in. Now we’ve got one…
We’ve got two.

Britney Spears & Russell Brand 2008 VMAs Video Spot

MTV’s 25th annual Video Music Awards will be hosted by comedian/actor Russell Brand and will air live, on Sunday, September 7, 2008 at 9PM (Live ET/Tape Delayed PT)

Britney actually looked good in this video and almost seemed normal, but considering it’s Britney I’m pretty sure she’ll almost forever be fine to put on Pure TV Freaks. One look at Russell Brand’s hair and you know he’s a classic TV Freak.

Paris Hilton’s Ad to Respond to McCain Ad

McCain’s ad that compared Paris Hilton and Britney Spears to Barack Obama has caused quite the controversy. Take a look at McCain’s Paris Hilton and Britney Spears ad:

I don’t think it’s a big deal and I think McCain makes an interesting point that should be considered. Should popularity be the sole reason you don’t vote for someone, no, but it highlights well the question of whether Obama has the skills needed to run the country. I’ll leave the answer to you.

The funny part is that Paris Hilton decided to create an Ad of her own announcing Paris Hilton’s campaign for the Presidency.

My favorite part of the video is when Paris says she might paint the white house pink.
