PureDWTS Season 21 – Rumor Round-Up

As we’re on the eve of the announcement of the first season 21 celeb in less than 12 hours, I figured it was time to come up with a summary post of all the rumors we’ve covered so far this season.

As usual, here’s my explanation: I’ve divided our potential dancers this season into 5 categories: the “legitimate possibilities”, which are rumors that have surfaced within the last week or so (when most casting leaks occur) and come from sources that are generally pretty reliable when it comes to casting leaks; the “long shots”, which are rumors from less-reliable sources, vague tweets, and ambiguous responses from the celebs themselves – basically, rumors that we aren’t really as confident about; the “wannabes/campaigners”, who are celebs who have expressed interest in doing the show (but haven’t actually been reported as a rumor by any reputable outlets); “pure randomness”, which is for random and slightly interesting observations that may or may not indicate a certain celeb’s possible participation in this season – generally, they mean nothing, but we’re adding them here for sh*ts & giggles 🙂  And then there are the “no’s”, the celebs that have confirmed that they won’t be participating in this season. I’ve added short notes in wherever I’ve found it pertinent.

Legitimate possibilities:

Shay Mitchell
Nick Carter
Kacy Catanzaro
Kaitlyn Bristowe

I’m a just leave this here. ~Heidi

Longshots:

Bethany Hamilton
Anthony Davis (said he turned it down – but acted rather wishy-washy about it)
Nick Jonas
Lindsay Lohan
Scott Disick
Pippa Middleton
Marilu Henner
Kobe Bryant or Vanessa Bryant

Wannabes/Campaigners:

Christine Ouzounian
Andy Grammar
Ramona Singer
Terrell Owens

Pure Randomness:

Alison Baver
Boris Kodjoe (was originally supposed to be on season 18, but backed out)
Ricky Martin
Maureen McCormick
Chris Colfer
Christie Brinkley
Nick Lachey
Heather Locklear
Nina Dobrev
Drita D’Avanzo (draw your own conclusions – but it’s interesting)

The Definite No’s:

Rick Schroeder
Jodie Sweetin (personally told me “not this season”, but an interesting person liked my picture of her on Instagram)
Piers Morgan
Caitlyn Jenner
Amanda Bynes

Don’t forget to keep an eye on this post to see the names announced each morning this week on GMA! (NOTE: post won’t be active until tomorrow morning)

Ultrasound sales specialist by day, semi-knowledgeable DWTS fan by night...with a smattering of hair & makeup enthusiast, occasional model, baker, and crazy cat lady peppered in to make things REALLY interesting ;-) I might pee my pants in happiness if Donnie Wahlberg ever does DWTS - or if they ever use "Sunglasses at Night" as a paso doble.

DWTS Season 21 Watch Out: Piers Morgan Asked To Dance On Dancing With The Stars And Strictly Come Dancing

TV 3 is reporting that Piers Morgan was asked to dance on both the US and UK version of Dancing With The Stars. Too bad he’s not too keen on the idea. He can be kind of jerk sometimes, but, I really miss his CNN show. I use to love his celebrity interviews.

Piers Morgan claims he was offered thousands of pounds to appear on both ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ and ‘Dancing with the Stars’ but is too embarrassed to dance on TV.

The British journalist claims he was offered the huge sum to strut his stuff on the popular US dance show and received similar offers from the UK equivalent, ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, but would never consider the fees because he would be embarrassed by his moves.

He said: ”This year I have been offered a lot of money to do ‘Strictly’ – I think it was six figures, and ‘Dancing with the Stars’ in America, which was a lot of money, about $300,000 (almost £200,000).

”But there is not enough money in Fort Knox to get me to dance in public. However, a bottle of Jack Daniel’s is a different matter.

”I had my 50th recently and Amanda Holden and me were doing the old bongo dance until 3am, which was very impressive.

”In that situation I’ll dance, but not on national TV.”

More at TV 3.

DWTS J.R. Martinez and Anna Trebunskaya Helped To Salute And Attend CNN Hero Awards

Last night, the CNN Hero Awards, which salutes and honors those everyday individuals who go to extraordinary lengths to serve others and make the world a better place, were held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California. Seen arriving on the Red Carpet below is Dancing With The Stars pro Anna Trebunskaya, Dancing With The Stars Season 13 champ J.R. Martinez (who also presented) and his girlfriend Diana Jones. Other famous faces at the event included host Anderson Cooper, Piers Morgan, Chris Colfer, Sofia Vergara, and Rachel Crow. Miley Cyrus and Kid Rock were the musical performers.
